Welcome to the Mawson Building, home of the University's Department of Earth Sciences. Here you'll find useful information like directions to major lecture and teaching rooms, plus details about current events.
There’s a long history of research and teaching embedded here; a large number of staff and students who’ve forged international reputations in geology, geophysics, mining and exploration, leading to an enviable number of important discoveries. You'll also find a famous ‘heritage’ museum, and a comprehensive set of analytical laboratories and archived rock and mineral collections. Of course, there are also the requisite teaching laboratories, lecture rooms, and a student hub.
